Save The Dates

Not everyone is engaged a photography hobbyist, BUT, if you happen to have a sweet camera or know of someone who does - you can make an adorable save the date in your own back yard.
Our wedding will take place in the middle of the Mendocino Forest at an adorable venue surrounded by cabins, yurts, and beautiful big trees. Naturally, I wanted to incorporate the "camping" feel on our save the dates!
Here is what we used:

We already had the suitcases, bottles, jars, and sheets so we only spent money on the flowers ($5.00 at our local flower boutique, score!). Also, our neighbors just so happened to be trimming their trees at the same time so I was able to take some of their unwanted branches for the tent frame.  Upload the photo, edit, add some fancy font and voila! You have a cute, personalized save the date:

 Even though you could easily print your own cards, I ended up uploading our photo to Zazzle.com because of how user-friendly their site was (aaaand maybe because I procrastinated a little too long). Plus their cards are reasonably affordable! If you're really looking to cut corners like we did - go for the postcard option. You'll spend half as much on postage.

Here is a little sneak peak of the final product:

{Tips}
//Be sure to time your photos right by avoiding direct sunlight. Early morning or in the evening will produce the best lighting for your photos.
//Always, ALWAYS, look for coupons before ordering anything. I was able to find a coupon that landed me 65% off my order from Zazzle. I mean, really, you can't beat that!

Happy planning!

Oh hai!

Hey guys!
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Leann and I am 5 months away from marrying a super hunky man by the name of Nic.

Throughout our 2 year engagement we've changed many aspects of our wedding day, but one thing has always stayed the same: we absolutely do NOT want to break the bank for one day of our lives. The purpose of this blog is to lend a helping hand to the other frugal brides out there, looking for ways to DIY their wedding.  I am so very excited to document this, as well as other crafts along the way.
Enjoy!
